NOTE: January 9, 2021: Sad to say I have had to remove this photo to protect it from those who are taking my photos from my site for use in another site. I am trying to work this out with WordPress.
This is the header for C-Dog and Company, by Deb, used with permission.
UPDATE: I am sad to report that Deb has removed the site C-Dog and Company as well as her other website below. I am therefore removing the links to her blog as they are no longer valid.
I imagine the dog picture is a big surprise for those readers who know me! I consider him off-the-charts cute, BTW. I was really happy to find Deb’s animal-themed blog. She has a real way with taking a moment and presenting it through deep, adventurous, and meaningful prose. Because Deb has cats, too, her blog is not really a big jump for me, species-wise!
Was I ever surprised when she wrote that she’d like to interview me!
If you are interested in great animal writing, before going to the interview links where Deb asks skillfully crafted on-point questions and I answer, well sort of, LOL, please take a look at C-Dog and Company. Check out a few of my favorite links on her site, and look around a bit, there’s so much good stuff there. I also like her drawings!
About Charlie, who is C-Dog:
For lovers of art and animals:
Animals plus nature writing – you see why Deb’s blog resonates so much with me!
Here is Deb’s interview with me, Catwoods, aka Leah, in two parts:
Here is Deb’s website where she has links to some of her writing that’s been published in other venues.
So, do follow these links to C-Dog and Company for some seriously engaging animal writing!
Great interview and we learned more about you! 🙂
Thank you, Eliza! I have to mainly credit Deb’s interviewing skills – I would never know what to ask in an interview myself!
Nice articles, Leah. I agree with you 100% that an appreciation of nature and a love of animals makes us better and even more fulfilled humans.
Candace, thank you so much for reading all that, I know it’s a bit lengthy! I’m happy you liked the interview; it’s so good to experience solidarity with others when it comes to animals and nature.
Oh, Leah! What a pleasant surprise, to be sure! I’m so glad you think my “kid” (Charlie) is cute, too — I figured I was just biased (I am). 🙂 And thank you so much for featuring C-Dog & Company! I have to say, these autumn breezes are kicking up in me the desire to get back and again post on it, at least once a week. I think your post here has fanned the breezes even more so! Again, many thanks to you. And I do hope your readers will check out the interview with you so they can read all about the great things you’re doing as well!
I’m so happy you like this Deb! I’d be pleased if it helps spark a return to animal writing! Of course I enjoy your other blog, too, you are so versatile and adventurous! Write it all down, that’s what I’ve always thought. Oh, and Charlie is just adorable!
Well, thank you so much, Leah. I am really enjoying the other blog as well, mainly because it allows me to work on my fiction and some nonfiction. But, as I said, I do love animals and I always hoped that writing about them might, somehow help the cause in some little, tiny way. So, yes, I do really think your blog has helped me to think in that direction again — for which I thank you immensely! 🙂
